Mix Monday 4

On the weekend a few of the team were privledged to catch the French bearded man known as Breakbot. Looking like jesus's stlightly scraggy younger brother, this man came ready and prepared for his crowd.
We waited in anticipation to see what the disco deft dude would play. He was playing at Candy's, a club well know for its heavy, dirty, deep, noise/electro. Not typical to what Breakbot is known for as a producer. The supporting DJ's were on there game warming up the quickly filling club with some smoother disco tunes like my current fav Kilometer (A-Trak Remix).
When Breakbot hit the stage at 1am with his Sony Vaio laptop and Behringer BCR2000 (same midi controller Daft Punk use!) the crowd was clearly ready and expectant. He started off smoothly and rolled into the style his all too well known for playing tunes like Cut Dick by Mr Oizo and quite a few of his own productions and remixes. He carried on playing with that style for the first 40 mins or so. Then the tempo slowly and creatively began to lift as he started to drop some heavier electro style tunes. This careful increase in energy continued to lift as did the crowd, lapping up every moment of it. Then for the last half hour it had reached at point where you were hearing the stuff Candy's is known for. Tracks like Raven, Bounce (A-Trak Remix), Shake It Down, Momy, Focker (Boy's Noize Remix) and even a golden oldy The Bomb by The Bucketheads were all being mixed flawlessly (not hard using Ableton). I would say it's easily one of the best sets I've seen in 09 so far. More than anything Breakbot did a superb job of mixing what people wanted to hear but also lifting the intensity incrimentally and appropriately over the hour and half set.

This mix is a shorter disco mix he did a couple weeks back. This mix is floating around on the internet without a tracklist so I've done my best (with a lil help) to provide you with one. Theres still some gaps and possibly a few errors. Anyone who can help fill these please do. Now go get ya disco on
