Sneaky Map!

Here is the layout if you have not seen it already. Set times later this week, they are probably struggling with the vast amount of people playing. I can tick of Bobmo off the list who I saw on Friday.

He had it all layed out in front of him on his Macbook with an Ableton rainbow of colours. It was a very good show, starting with the Soulwax edit of Chemical Brothers, 'Hey Girl Hey Boy'. The dancefloor thickened immediately. Then he touched all bases for me, Raven, White Knight, Get up, Get get get get get down.

A mix I have been after for ages, quite old now.
Note, this isn't the orginal remix they made which did the rounds it's a rarer more spacey edit.

If you missed Friday and have other people to watch at We Love, check out Bobmo recently on Paris Radio.
Thanks LA Friendly

Vivid Syndey

Last night a few of us went down to Sydney Harbour's Circular Quay and The Rocks to check out, Vivid Sydney, a festival of music, light and ideas...
The main part of this attraction recieving media coverage and attention is the 'Luminous' light show being displayed on the Sydney Opera House. However, this is only part of the fesitval. There is a full light walk with heaps of smaller light attractions. Another part is Creative Sydney at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay offering both a provocative discussion program and a bunch of showcases from the city's emerging creative talents, mainly in fashion.

Producer, artist and pioneer of ambient sound, Brian Eno has been commissioned by Events NSW to curate the inaugural event, which will brings new emerging and established artists together to explore "'music, light and ideas".

I'd highly recommend this to anyone living in Sydney. The festival has already begun and runs through till about the middle of june. For those unlucky punters who don't, here are a few snaps for you.

For more check out

Miss Mars

This is a new tune from the Japanese kids, the 80kidz. I found it on the latest Kitsune Maison complilation (#7) which was released this week. This track is a gem. I havn't stopped playing it. If this doesn't make you wanna dance or at least put a smile on your face, you're fucked.

P.A.M. Sunglass Collabs

In 2007 street wear label P.A.M. (Perks And Mini) did a collaboration with Australia brand COLAB which is a clever brand who have a concept that insures a limitless amount of creativity to each season of eyewear. You see, COLAB features a revolving range of well known artists and designers to create some of their eye pieces. This is what the two did when they paired up.

Almost exactly three years later P.A.M.'s lastest sunglasses range have been released. This time in collaboration with Super (Italy) are their 'Basic Shape' sunglasses finished in 2 completely custom colored patterns from P.A.M.'s 'Magic Messages'. Choose from pina green/black with Neo Geo pattern, or sky blue with all over contrast Oiled Marble effect.

For something pretty damn random... peek here
Question is how many are there???

The big fella above, solid remixer and his presence on the dancefloor is unreal!

The first track below, which isnt the best quality (sorry), he first revealed on 13th February 2009 at In New Djs We Trust.
If you follow his radio show on the first Friday of every month you will see him unveil brand-spanking new techno & dirty house.

Cagedbaby-Forced (Dave Spoon Remix).mp3

Hope you enjoy these, especially The Mexican. Tune!

Long lost edit!!!!!

Found this in my itunes yesterday. Recently I bought an imac and dumped my two hardrives onto itunes. After many hours of tedious efforts to delete all the double ups I came across this old edit of Switchs remix of Hideaway. It cuts all the shit out and gets to the good parts quicker.

Mystery Jets-Hideaway(Switch remix, Diplo edit).mp3

This song was being played by diplo Last year. The original was very hard to get, only the sinden remix did the rounds. But here today I have the original for you.

Mix Monday 12

This weeks mix comes from the Canadian disco diva. Im a big fan of this guy for a number of reasons. U-Tern has a great understanding of music and puts together sets of new and old stuff, not necassarily just all lastest popuilar tracks. He's remixes are awesome, often boosting old disco tracks into something with a bit more energy and a whole lot more dancefloor worthy (get his James Brown remix if you don't have it!).

This is a set he did on his radio show over in Can-ahhh-dah a few monthes back. This shows his diversity and also how ontop of his game he is. There's tracks in here I hadn't even heard before and now they're beening played everywhere. Believe it or not, this was the first time I heard Riverside and Touch My Horn!

2008 was the pivotal year for Grafton Primary. Releasing their debut album, Eon, on MGM their popularity’s soared. Hailing from Sydney, their synth-driven style of music can’t be typecasted. Their music combines elements of classical music, 80s and 90s rock, deep and passionate lyrics to create a sound that’s not easily comparable to any other artist or genre of music. In Flagranti
For the first time in history the In Flagranti duo are bringing their live show to Australia. Compared to Daft Punk and The Rapture, the duo are more than a just a DJ set. New York’s funkiest export combines their unique style of indie-disco-punk with art and graphic design to create a show. Described by xlr8r magazine as "rare grooves from another planet", we love these guys.

James Zabiela
Self confessed adrenaline junkie, James Zabiela is no stranger to the world of electronic music. Swiftly snapped up by Sasha's Excession agency, he spent the next year taking on Eastern Europe, Australia, South America and the US of A, while still finding time to record well-received CDs for Renaissance and unleash a string of fine remixes along the way. Royksopp, Ladytron and progressive artists Spooky have all been under the Zabiela scalpel - and more are on their way. Expect his latest Renaissance recording out shortly.

James Zabiela - Robophobia (Original Mix).mp3

Justin Martin
Justin Martin is one of the few house DJs that successfully bridges the gap between being commercially successful and staying true to the underground. His sound has been described as both melodic and tough, with releases ranging from the dynamic "Cicada" on dirtybird to the slamming "Magnificent" remix for Iz and Diz on OM records.

Justin first gained international acclaim for his single, "The Sad Piano," on Ben Watt's Buzzin'fly label. The single made its way into many A-List DJ crates as well as receiving many accolades from critics. Over time, Justin developed a more edgy sound in his hometown of San Francisco. He helped develop the local dirtybird label with his good friend, Claude VonStroke, releasing several amazing singles and remixes.

Justin considers himself lucky to be making music and is always a humble, but rocking presence on the dance floor. Stay tuned for some amazing new music and remixes this year.

Kissy Sell Out

Laidback Luke
Named best producer of 2008 by qualified house maestros such as David Guetta, and Roger Sanchez, and landing an impressive new entry – voted 46 – in DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll, it’s clear that Holland’s homeboy is on the rise like never before. He’s been bustin’ up bassbins from the Americas to Ibiza. He was selected to ignite the Stealth Live! CD series with a near perfect club mix. He was snapped up for a weekly mix show by French station Radio FG. And invited by the UK’s Pete Tong to the Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. Luke’s success is ripe to reach new levels of hotness in 2009!

Axwell, Ingrosso, Angello, Laidback Luke - Leave The World Behind.mp3

Matthew Dekay
Classically trained as a child, this Dutch maestro’s tracks feature on playlists and sets from Sasha to Eric Morillo and Deep Dish. His ability to merge into any music genre is what makes him a magical producer and DJ. His summer anthem ‘Shine’ made waves around the world, and he’s currently remixing tracks for Bryan Adams. Relocating Stateside his popularity has sky rocketed, one example is his profile piece in DJ Mag’s January edition where he mixes a free CD ‘New Horizons’.

Ladyhawke - Paris Is Burning (Mathew Dekay Remix).mp3

Act yo age
They have been hyped and tipped to be the next hot thing, but these two beat freaks say they will be content with a rumble in the bassbins, a zap in the speakers and nothing less than murder on the dancefloor. But then that’s as likely as George Bush wanting peace in the middle east. Remix credits already include Larry Tee, Princess Superstar, Franz & Shape, Grafton Primary and Edu K, they are the sauna you don’t have and the steam room you wanted.

Act Yo Age - The Flash (Dre Skull remix).mp3

Remixing tracks for major stars such as Moby, Tocadisco, Mystery Jets and Tiga, who’s hit ‘Sunglasses at Night’ stayed at number one on Beatport for two weeks, Popoff’s a DJ/composer/remixer entrepreneur. Popof - E Doser

Selling out venues at home, in Paris, and worldwide, and being chosen as Itune USA’s single of the week, Danger, aka Franck Rivoire, is making waves around the world. He’s remixed Estelle, Sébastien Tellier and Empire of the Sun, and is a firm fixture in the international electro

Robbie Lowe
Robbie Lowe is undeniably one of Australia’s most talented and respected DJ’s. If an international artist has come through Sydney over the past decade, Robbie has warmed up their dancefloor at least once. If a young DJ has made an impact on the Sydney’s underground house scene over the same time, Robbie may well have given them their start. Robbie has been given props by some of the biggest names in dance music today, that include John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela & Danny Howells. More recently Robbie was the chosen warm up DJ for Tiesto’s Sydney - Elements Of Life Tour - shows. Each was to over 5000 people at The Hordern Pavillion.

Matt Rowan and Robbie Lowe-Ground Swell.mp3

Since beginning his illustrious career in 2003 this young hip hop DJ has certainly cut his teeth with nation wide tours, festival slots, residencies and supports not to mention his breakthrough remix for Pnau earlier last year. With a variety of styles, tunes and tricks up his sleeve, Sampology cannot be pigeonholed. Watch in awe (and dance) as he combines versatile skills and inimitable style at the We Love Sounds festival.

So there you have a few tracks to get through. It should be very good. Also if you missed out on reading it above. This Friday 29th of May at Moulin Rouge in Kings Cross. Bobmo is playing a sideshow. I would get down there
