At 35 years of age and looking more like 45, Quentin Dupieux AKA Mr Oizo has a had long lasting and interesting career as a DJ/producer. Touring the world under the Ed Banger label and recently releasing his third studio album this man strives to do things with music that aren’t cool or conventional but rather try new and unused techniques. A lot of his music samples older original music such as old 70’s disco. He is also a big fan of the distortion, fitting right in at Ed Banger.



Some of Oizo’s sets have been criticised by not being techniquely what they should be. I’ve been lucky enough to catch him three times live and have not been let down yet which is a pretty good track record. To back this up I have a LIVE set for you. This was recorded a couple of months ago at Petrol (a nightclub in Amsterdam). The two hour set is quite a heavy, banging typical Ed Banger style mix but it’s done with class. It has a few random ones thrown in there and the mixing is mainly short and sharp.
